A hidden gem of a place.
I stumbled upon this Smog Check Only location which is a off of Coloma near Sunrise several years ago while needing to smog one of our 5 or 6 cars that my family drives around. The waiting room is not fancy but the service is excellent. The owner comes out to greet you as soon as you start walking to the office if he is not in the middle of a smog check. He writes up the estimate, takes your keys, comes back 15 or so minutes later saying you have passed. I don't know how he does it as we drive older cars, 88-00s, and I always come in crossing my fingers and after paying a reasonable sum, drive away happy.
I know he just give the results of the of what the smog check machinery is reading but I am afraid of going somewhere else and breaking the streak.

This was a fast and painless experience for me. There was one person that was ahead of me and he literally got to my vehicle in about 5 minutes.
The gentle man who did my smog check was very polite, friendly and personable. I found this location because I got a coupon in the mail advertising SMOG Checks $24.95! (+$8.25 certificate and $2.00 Electronic Notification) and got out of there for $$35 and some change.
I highly recommend coming here for your smog checks as its fast, convenient, and service was good.

Looks like a one man show, and that's all he needs. Kind and professional from the first phone inquiry to saying goodbye. I called Friday night, getting prices from all the smog stations in the Rancho area-there's a ton. Average price for my 02 SUV was $60 (test+certificate). There were a few coupons in the Penny Saver, but of course, the one for First Stop expired (it would've been $39, but I think that's for a car, not an SUV). Anyways, he quoted me $48 out the door. Cool. He opened at 8am Saturday. As I pulled in at 8:15am, he was doing another car, but he came to my car to greet me. He said "You called me yesterday? I told you $48?" At first I thought, "oh, here we go...let's screw over the female driver." But turned out, he gave me $20 off his posted price. Excellent! He had me fill out a short form and said I could wait inside. I was there maybe a half hour at the most.
I highly recommend this place for a test-only shop. And call first!

I went to First Stop Smog and Drew was very helpful. I am new to the area and he walked me through the smog process. He was fast and friendly, just like the ad said he would be!!
